Light & placement
The Sansevieria Mikado is extremely tolerant and adapts to almost all light conditions, from full sun to shade. The brighter the light, the more vigorous the growth.
- Light: sun to partial shade, tolerates shade.
- Ideal: office, living room, bedroom, entryway, or any bright space.
- Temperature: 15 to 30 °C, tolerates fluctuations.
- Soil: very well-draining, cactus and succulent potting mix with perlite or sand.
Verdeia tip: the Sansevieria is the perfect plant for beginners and forgetful people — it tolerates almost everything.
Watering & care
- Watering: low; let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
- Frequency: about once every 2-3 weeks in spring-summer, once a month in winter.
- Drainage: essential — use a perforated decorative pot with very well-draining soil.
- Humidity: tolerates dry air, no need for misting.
- Fertilizer: once every 6-8 weeks in spring-summer with diluted liquid cactus fertilizer.
- Cleaning: gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to preserve their shine.
The main enemy of the Sansevieria is overwatering — it’s better to forget to water than to water too much.
