🌷 Mixed double tulips • 🎨 Deep pink, apricot flamed with pink and soft yellow • 🌿 Stems about 40 cm tall • 🌤️ Flowers in April • 💐 Superb in bouquets • ☀️ Full sun • ❄️ Very hardy • 📏 Bulbs size 11/12
The 'Symbiose' tulip mix brings together three double tulips, 'Pink Symbiose', 'Salmon Symbiose' and 'Yellow Symbiose': their full flowers, made up of several rows of petals, come in three shades that echo one another, deep pink, apricot flamed with pink and soft yellow. They flower in April on stems about 40 cm tall. It is a European horticultural selection, from the Double Early tulip group.
Their warm, soft colours create a bright bed, as lovely in the ground as in a large pot or a bouquet. Among our flower bulbs, it is the pink, apricot and yellow double tulip mix, ready-made for a harmonious bed without having to match the bulbs.
Which tulip should you choose?
- 'Symbiose' tulip mix (this plant) — double flowers in deep pink, apricot flamed with pink and soft yellow, about 40 cm, in April. For a bed of full flowers in warm, soft tones, ready-made.
- Mixed double tulips — full, peony-like flowers in a mix of reds, pinks, yellows, whites and bicolours, 40–50 cm, in April and May. For a more contrasting border.
- Lilac double tulip — full flowers, lilac to purple, 40–50 cm, in April and May. For a romantic border in a single shade.
- 'Gudoshnik Double' Tulip — full flowers, from butter yellow to pink streaked with red, 45 to 50 cm, in April and May. For warm tones that change from day to day.
- 'Sorbet' Tulip Mix — single cup-shaped flowers in pastel shades of pink, white and yellow, about 40 cm, in April. For softer tones, in single flowers.
- 'Glowing with Pride' Tulip — mix of red, pink, blush white and salmon orange flowers, 45 to 55 cm, April to May. For similar warm tones and flowering that lasts into May.
- Greigii Tulip Mix — red, pink, orange and bicolour flowers with mottled foliage, 20 to 30 cm, March to April. For window boxes and rockeries, on shorter stems.
- 'Strawberry Lemonade' Tulip — soft pink streaked with green, with pointed petals, 45 to 50 cm, in May. To take over in shades of pink.
We also offer other mixes, botanical tulips and viridiflora tulips: you will find them all in our tulip bulb collection.
Plant a few 'Glowing with Pride' alongside: they flower from April to May and extend the bed in similar shades of pink and orange.
How many bulbs should you choose?
Tulips make the most impact planted in tight groups: allow about 40 bulbs per square metre, or 10 to 12 bulbs in a 30 cm diameter pot.
- 12 bulbs: one large pot on a balcony or terrace, or a group of about 0.3 m² in a bed.
- 24 bulbs: about 0.6 m², or two large pots.
- 48 bulbs: about 1.2 m², for a flowering edge along a path.
- 96 bulbs: about 2.4 m², for a real spring bed or a cutting patch of tulips.
The bigger the pack, the lower the price per bulb: the 96-bulb pack works out at less than half the price per bulb of the 12-bulb pack.
Planting & location
Plant tulips from October to December, once the soil has cooled, for flowers in April.
- Position: full sun; in the sun, the flowers open wide and their colours become more vivid.
- Depth: 15 cm, pointed end up.
- Spacing: 10 cm between bulbs in the ground, 3 to 5 cm in pots.
- Soil: well drained; add sand to heavy soil, as the bulb rots in waterlogged ground.
- Hardiness: fully hardy, they overwinter in the ground without protection.
Plant the bulbs at random rather than by colour: the mix looks more natural and the pink, apricot and yellow blend better.
Watering & care
In the ground, rain is enough. In pots, check the moisture with the finger test and water only when the compost is dry 2 cm down.
- Watering: low — at planting, then in pots when the compost is dry on the surface, especially while the buds are forming.
- Fertilizer: unnecessary in the ground; in pots, use a bulb fertilizer as the leaves emerge.
- Faded flowers: cut the flower off just below the head as soon as it drops its petals, leaving the stem and leaves.
- After flowering: let the foliage turn yellow where it is for six weeks; it rebuilds the bulb’s reserves.
In a pot, give it a quarter turn every week in spring: the stems stay straight instead of leaning towards the light.
Decorating ideas & plant pairings
Their pink, apricot and yellow shades brighten a sunny balcony in spring, like plants for a sunny balcony.
- For a blue carpet at their feet, plant Armenian grape hyacinth — its bright blue 15 to 20 cm spikes flower in March-April, at the same time as them, and make the pink, apricot and yellow of the tulips stand out.
- To echo the yellow in the foreground, plant Narcissus 'Tête-à-Tête' in front of them — its small golden-yellow flowers, 15 to 20 cm tall, two to three per stem, bloom from February to April.
- For a softer flowering carpet, pair them with Greek anemone mix — its small blue, pink and white daisies, 10 to 15 cm tall, cover the ground in March-April.
- For a patio version, plant 10 to 12 bulbs in the white Elho Greenville Round pot, Ø30 cm, with a few muscari planted above them at 7 cm — the white of the pot sets off the pink, apricot and yellow of the flowers, and the drainage holes prevent standing water.
In a vase, mix the different colours of the blend: a few pink, apricot and yellow stems are enough for a luminous bouquet.
Verdeia tips
- Wait for the soil to cool: ideally plant from late October. In soil that is still warm, tulip bulbs are more prone to disease.
- Cut them in bud for the vase: pick them in the morning, when the bud is coloured but still closed; they then last a week in a vase and make a spring bouquet among plants to give as gifts.
- Add a few bulbs every autumn: tulips flower again, but the blooms get smaller over the years. A few fresh bulbs each year keep a border well filled.

How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Orders ship within 48 working hours, with tracked delivery in 2 to 5 working days via DPD. Shipping costs and the free-shipping threshold depend on your country — see our delivery page. You receive a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves.
What should I do when my plant arrives?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
